A social six fixed brace consists of 6 -12 orthodontic brackets stuck onto the front surface of either the upper or lower front teeth. A high-technology wire is then thread through the brackets and held into place.
The wire has a 'built-in' memory of its original shape and as it tries to straighten it applies a force to the teeth. It is this gentle force that is responsible for moving the teeth into their correct position.
Depending on the degree of crowding and the patient's personal preference, we use two different types of metal bracket or a clear, aesthetic brackets.
Like the other forms of Social 6 treatment, it is always necessary to hold the teeth in their corrected position with a combination of a fixed and removable retainer.
Fees for social six fixed braces depend on the complexity of the case and the type of bracket used.
Cost is usually £1075 using metal brackets and £1375 using clear, aesthetic brackets.
